Patrick J. Wellspeak, MAI
Patrick J. Wellspeak, MAI, is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute. He has managed several teams of appraisers, enabling him to develop an understanding of a wide array of asset classes. With this broad base of experience, he is frequently asked to provide consulting and litigation support services to Fortune 500 corporations and regional law firms. Mr. Wellspeak has also addressed audiences at numerous professional seminars on such topics as assessment appeals, estate planning and recent trends in the multifamily and office markets. Besides consulting, he is known for his understanding of the Fairfield County market and has valued a number of prestigious properties in the State of Connecticut to include the UBS complex and RFR portfolio in Stamford; Long Wharf Maritime Center and 360 State Street in New Haven; One State Street and the CIGNA headquarters in Hartford County. Mr. Wellspeak is an Executive Committee Member of the University of Connecticut Real Estate Center Council and was named its Distinguished Alumni of the Year in 2008.
William E. Kane, Jr., MAI
William E. Kane, Jr., MAI, has over 25-years experience in real estate valuation and consulting and is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute. While having a broad knowledge in a wide spectrum of commercial properties and large scale residential developments his main focus is the valuation of hotels and other lodging facilities. The firm has completed over 70 hospitality assignments across the northeast. Mr. Kane has provided litigation support and expert testimony in disputes relating to hotels. Because of his extensive knowledge of these areas, he has often been asked to lead courses for the Appraisal Institute and continuing education programs for the University of Connecticut. Numerous times he has been on the dais of the Annual Real Estate Conference sponsored by the University of Connecticut School of Business.
Jeffrey R. Dugas, MAI, SGA
Jeffrey R. Dugas, MAI, SGA, has been active in commercial real estate since the mid 1980’s. After working for several years in the general appraisal field, he developed a concentration on golf and recreational real estate, ranging from appraisal, consulting and brokerage. He is one of a select group of specialists invited into the prestigious Society of Golf Appraisers, a national membership of accomplished golf course consultants, and has obtained the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. He has taught several advanced real estate courses for the University of Connecticut, and has spoken at various public forums including the International Association of Assessors, National Golf Club Owners Association and Club Managers Association. He has been quoted in many golf articles and published in several real estate-related trade publications. His expertise lies in providing advisory services to the golf industry on a national basis, with a focus on the East Coast. Mr. Dugas has completed more than 2,000 golf assignments in more than two dozen states, including notable clubs like Shinnecock Hills, National Golf Links, The Bears Club, Friars Head and Westchester Country Club, to name a few. Mr. Dugas has also testified as an expert witness in dozens of court cases where he helped solidify the methodology used to value golf courses for tax certiorari. Mr. Dugas has also worked as a consultant where he has negotiated significant real estate tax reductions for his clients that include The Patterson Club, Wampanoag CC, Farmington CC and the Golf Club of Cape Cod. He has also assisted in the sale and lease of dozens of golf property around the country.
